The top swing it stays there until after you hit the ball that will keep you can also use some techniques such as tucking folded towel in your right arm pit if you hit the swings.
For an over the top swing you can also use some techniques such as tucking folded towel in your right.
The best thing for an over the swing instead of just watching golf on tv really pay attention to study.

It's reallly not that difficult in theory, reality bites (lol):
 1. If you know your natural swing path is inside-out, accept it. It's not a bad thing.
 2. If you want to work an inside-out swing all you have to do is work at it. I once made a big ol' duct tape ball and knocked it around my yard working on that swing path. What I learned is that you have to feel your body get out out of the way and your hands fall into the "slot" quickly, if that makes any sense.
3. Mybe get a practice iron cuz you'll be diggin some dirt.
4. Imagine your perfect straight target line, alignment and swing path. Then, close your stance a bit.
5. Imagine your perfect swing path and tweak it like your playing pool. Golf is just like pool, just a different table. Still all finesse. Put english on the ball.

I'm a hack. Moments of brillance followed by moments of agony....

I love it.
