How old is too old to start training your dog?

Saturday, October 30th, 2010

Cassie asked:

I have two dogs. One is a 1-year-old German Shepard named Gracie and the other is a 4-year-old Austrailian Shepard/Border Collie mix named Molly. I never got the chance to work with Molly a whole lot when she was younger because I didn’t live with my dad at that time. Gracie doesn’t pay much attention because if she’s near Molly, Molly is distracting her and if she’s away from Molly, she’s just looking for Molly. Molly is quite the alpha dog- she’s very controlling over Gracie and Gracie is quick to back down. My boyfriend and I are getting ready to move onto a golf course but I need to be able to convince the general manager that I can have them trained by the time golf season starts in a few months. They bark and chase squirrels and birds and Gracie howls when she hears sirens. I think Gracie is trainable since she’s still pretty young, but I’m not sure about Molly.
How old is to old to start training for it to be effective and stick?

Golf Exercise Ball Training Tips - Mike Pedersen Trainer

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010
MikePedersenGolfTips asked:

Visit Perform Better Golf to get your FREE golf training tips, ebooks and drills that will infuse power and distance in your swing…guaranteed! www.performbettergolf.com Any golfer looking to play better golf should have a golf exercise ball. This is an inexpensive piece of equipment you can get anywhere, that will strengthen your body and eliminate back pain. www.performbettergolf.com These golf exercise balls are so much fun to use. I use them everyday in my golf training program, in fact I sit on my ball when I’m at my computer. It makes me use good posture, and I can do simple exercises to take a break from working. One of the key elements in a consistently powerful golf swing is stability. Doing exercises and stretches on a stability ball will quickly improve your stabilizing muscles so you have “rock-solid” posture for 18 holes of golf. I strongly encourage you invest in this golf exercise training ball, and put it to good use. You can get it at my online store at: www.performbettergolf.com

Tour Striker Golf Training Aid at www.InTheHoleGolf.com

Monday, October 25th, 2010
InTheHoleGolf asked:

Practice with the Tour Striker will quickly change your understanding of ball striking and will teach you to deliver the club in a descending motion applying a forward leaning club shaft to the ball. You will quickly learn how to get the SWEET SPOT of the Tour Striker under the CENTER OF GRAVITY of the ball, by naturally applying forward shaft lean during impact. We have all heard golfers say, hit that one on the sweet spot. That is a wonderful feeling and is generally the reason we make a tee time for our next game. That feeling of striking a ball purely and watching it go to its intended target is very rewarding. The Tour Striker will help you ingrain this feel. Your swing will develop its own successful signature. The more you practice with the Tour Striker the more you will ingrain the correct striking technique and the intent of your swing will change dramatically resulting in a very satisfying outcome The epiphany gained by practicing with the Tour Striker will truly be your own, building on your internal feel and belief system, not the words and descriptions of a well meaning friend or teaching professional. To truly own and rely on a motion, it has to come from within and the Tour Striker will give you this ownership. From here, your creative ability to play golf will flourish. Visit www.InTheHoleGolf.com for all the latest golf equipment and training aids.

Brock asked:

Mainly training clients in golf fitness how much do you think someone could make in or around the LA or Hollywood area? I am a recently certified ACE personal trainer and am wanting to “specialize” in golf fitness. Where do you think the best area for that would be? (in California) I currently live about 30 miles south east of St. Louis, MO on the IL side and the job search is on going. I really want to move to Cali and know there are jobs out there. My girlfriend is a nurse so she can find a job anywhere but I want to make sure I can get a good paying job to support the increase in living. Please help me

Is a prestigious golf training invitational or community college class during the summer better?

Saturday, October 9th, 2010
golf training
Karen asked:

Hi. I have two possible options for my summer. 1) a prestigious golf training invitational 2) community college classes. I am currently a sophomore in high school, so I need to make this summer count. I want to do whatever looks the best to colleges.

For 1), it is a prestigious golf training invitational for the “best” ranked girl golf-players in the U.S. I earned the invitational, but I don’t know whether to go or not. The highest ranked girl golf-players in the U.S. are not going for some reason, so I don’t know whether I should or not. The training program is taught by the top golfer teachers in the U.S. It’s free, but I have to pay for the airplane ticket, lodgings, and meal expenses. It would equal about $600. The training is hard-core and for 5 days, so the $600 would at least equal the lessons I get.

For 2), I’ll probably take French and some other class like philosophy.

I’m good with either choice, so I want to go to whatever looks best to colleges. Which one is it? Thanks.
